MYCP underwent a structural reform on its own terms to be more collaborative, representative, transparent and action-oriented. The platform is built on 4 key pillars.

  • MYCP Secretariat

The MYCP Secretariat is led by our full-time Global Coordinator and supported by our paid staff. They safeguard our mission and mandate, leading our work in international governance processes, maintaining the legal, financial integrity and sustainability of the organisation, and building partnerships to create a brighter shared future.

  • MYCP International Council

The International Council replaces the old Executive Team, with five new elected regional representatives to provide the political direction of the organisation, bringing grassroots voices and issues the centre of internal decision-making. Each representative serves as the focal point for their region, responsible for outreach, engagement and mobilisation.

  • MYCP Constituency

Our constituency is at the heart of everything we do. Made up of children and young  migrants, youth-led organisations, and youth from around the world. Elevating their voices and priorities is part of our commitment to make sure our Secretariat, Council and Coordination Team works for them.

  • MYCP Coordination Team

Divided into three units (THINK, ENGAGE & DELIVER) the new Coordination Team structure aligns the voluntary work of the Platform to its mandate and mission, ensuring youth-led policy innovation, advocacy and engagement. Each unit has a clear mission and integrates MYCP’s thematic priorities into its work, promoting collaboration and delivery-focused operations.

The new Coordination Team structure

  • #THINK: Creating Ideas for a Better Tomorrow

Responsible for knowledge-generation and research. Understanding migration better is a fundamental enabler of MYCP’s work, and the #THINK unit provides this input for our advocacy and engagement. They are responsible for researching the current state of play in which MYCP operates, making sure our advocacy is informed and engagement is tailored. They make sure that the ideas we have for a better future are rooted in evidence, and translate that evidence into digestible outputs.

  • #ENGAGE: Empower & Inspiring Future Leaders

Responsible for our mobilisation and capacity building. The engagement and development of our constituency is what we do best, and enables them to be leaders in their own right, and #ENGAGE makes sure that happens. They take the lead on our capacity building programming, mobilisation across regions and making sure MYCP outputs are accessible to the constituency.

  • #DELIVER: Turning Ideas into Action

Responsible for advocacy and campaigns. Pushing policy forward is at the heart of what we do, and #DELIVER takes that on for the issues that matter most to our constituency. They are in charge of our advocacy strategies, campaign ideas, and amplifying the challenges and solutions of children and youth on the move. They work with partners to deliver outputs which can make a real difference, and support our specialist input into migration governance.

The MYCP Board of Directors serves as the legal and oversight body of the entire Platform, ensuring financial stability, long-term health and vision.
