Youth leaders across South West Asia and North Africa (SWANA) are not only affected by migration, they are shaping its future. Through region-wide consultations with hundreds of young people experiencing forced migration, displacement, economic hardship, and systemic exclusion, six clear priorities emerged.

PATHWAYS TO PROGRESS: Youth Insights on the GCM from Across Europe & North America
The Migration Youth and Children Platform (MYCP) and partners highlight the value of youth insights on migration but note their underrepresentation in high-level talks. Ahead of the 2024-2025 Global Compact for Migration (GCM) Regional Reviews and the International Migration Review Forum (IMRF), MYCP held youth consultations in Europe and North America to amplify young voices on migration issues. These consultations identified ongoing migrant challenges and offered practical solutions based on real experiences. This youth-led policy brief shares key recommendations to strengthen the GCM by prioritizing youth perspectives in these regions.

YOUTH ON THE FRONTLINES OF MIGRATION GOVERNANCE: Insights from Africa
The Africa regional youth consultations, convened by the Migration Youth and Children Platform (MYCP) in the context of the Global Compact for Migration (GCM), brought together youth from across the continent to co-create forward-looking, actionable migration priorities. These consultations centered on the realities facing young Africans, and the following six youth-driven recommendations are the outcome of this participatory process.
