Young Voices on the Move
Call to World Leaders Video

The Migration Youth & Children Platform (MYCP) is producing a video, funded by Save the Children, to amplify the calls to action from youth on the move to world leaders. We want to showcase your authentic voices, initiatives, journeys and solutions.

Submit footage before 23 JANUARY 2026

This is an opportunity to have your voice heard!

The video will be shown and published at the 2026 International Migration Review Forum, in New York City.

  • We want your real voice, emotions, and ambitions. Be honest and personal. Don't overthink it or aim for perfection.

    • Everyone must say the lines in bold. These tie the video together.

    • We've also provided questions below. Answer all of them, just the ones that resonate, or share your own story if you have something specific you want to talk about. The questions are there to give you ideas.

  • Read all lines in bold. The other questions are for you to choose from.  3 dots (…) indicate where you add your own answer.

Filming Guidelines

How to film

Use your phone's rear camera (the better quality one at the back)

  • Find these in Settings > Camera > Record Video

  • Turn HRD off

  • If you can't change settings, use your standard camera

These settings can usually be found in your ‘settings’ apps, for example; settings > camera > Record Video (see example below). If you're struggling to change the settings, please just film with your standard phone camera settings.

Framing

  • Film horizontally (turn your phone sideways, landscape mode)

  • Position yourself at eye level, centered in frame

  • Medium close-up of yourself – show your chest to top of your head, don’t be too  far away.

Stability

  • Keep the camera steady – Use a tripod if possible or prop your phone on books, a shelf, or a window ledge.

  • Don’t hold your phone in your hand.

Lighting

  • Face a window or natural light

  • Light should hit your face, not come from behind.

  • Avoid very dark rooms or harsh shadows.

  • No bright light behind you, it will make you look too dark.

Background

  • Choose your space:  your room, kitchen, a family photo wall – it doesn’t need to be fancy, just something that might help the audience connect with who you are.

  • Or keep it simple with a plain wall.

  • Keep it tidy to avoid distractions.

Sound

  • Record in a quiet space – avoid background noise

  • Speak clearly and at a natural, confident volume.
